Basic Handgun
- Building Confidence from the Ground Up
This course is designed to take you from your very first moments with a firearm to a level of technical proficiency and comfort. We focus on the "why" behind every movement, helping you build a solid foundation of safety and skill. Our goal is to move you beyond the basics and into a space where you are a confident, independent, and accurate shooter.
- Safe Handling & "The Four Rules": A comprehensive look at the universal safety rules and how to apply them every time you touch a firearm.
- Firearm Familiarization: Learning the parts and pieces of your handgun, how it operates, and how to safely lock it open and verify it is empty.
- The Mechanics of Loading: Practice with dummy rounds to master the art of loading and unloading magazines and the firearm itself without any stress.
- Finding Your Dominant Eye: A simple test to ensure you are using your vision correctly to align your sights from the very first shot.
- The Fundamentals of Marksmanship: A step-by-step breakdown of how to stand, how to hold the firearm (grip), and how to look through the sights.
- The Science of the Trigger: Learning to find the "wall" and the "reset" to ensure your shots go exactly where you intend them to.
- Recoil Management: Simple body-positioning techniques to manage the "kick" of the firearm, making shooting a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
- Diagnostic Shooting: We analyze your shots to identify and correct common habits like "anticipating the shot" or "trigger slapping."
- Malfunction Drills: Building the muscle memory to identify and clear common stoppages safely and without hesitation.
- Independent Range Operations: Gaining the confidence to manage your own training sessions, from safe set-up to efficient practice routines.
We believe that everyone should feel empowered and safe when handling a firearm. This isn’t about rushing you through a checklist; it’s about the experience of becoming a better shooter. We focus on the technical details and safety protocols that ensure you leave the range with the skills and confidence to truly enjoy the sport.

Elevate Your Range
Practical Shooting Drills
If your "training" usually consists of punching holes in a stationary paper target at five yards, it’s time to break the routine. Static shooting builds the foundation, but dynamic drills build the skill. This class is designed to move you past the basics and bridge the gap between "knowing how to shoot" and "knowing how to perform."
This isn't a lecture; it's a high-energy, high-round-count session focused on repeatable mechanics under pressure.
What We’ll Cover
We focus on the "Three Pillars of Performance": Speed, Accuracy, and Consistency. You will be pushed through a variety of industry-standard drills, including:
Standardized Benchmarks: We’ll run classic drills (like the Bill Drill or the 5-to-1) to give you a concrete metric of your current skill level.
Efficient Transitions: Moving your eyes and muzzle between multiple targets without "over-driving" the gun.
The "Problem Solving" Drills: Integrating emergency reloads and malfunction clearances into active courses of fire.
What to Bring
This is an active class. Please come prepared with:
Your Firearm: A reliable, clean handgun (semi-auto preferred).
Quality Holster: A dedicated, outside-the-waistband (OWB) or inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster. No "sticky" or collapsible holsters for safety reasons.
Ammo: Minimum of 250 rounds (refer to specific class date for exact count).
Magazines: At least 3–4 magazines and a way to carry them (mag pouches).
PPE: Wraparound eye protection and electronic ear protection (highly recommended so you can hear instructions).
Is This For You?
Prerequisite: This is not a "Learn to Shoot" class. Participants must demonstrate safe gun handling, the ability to draw from a holster safely, and a solid understanding of firearm fundamentals.
Why take this class?
Because shooting is a perishable skill. These drills aren't just about burning powder—they’re about creating the muscle memory that stays with you when it counts. Whether you’re a competitive shooter looking to shave seconds or a concealed carrier looking to sharpen your defensive edge, this class will provide the roadmap for your future practice.

Master the Maintenance
Handgun Cleaning 101
Let’s be honest: buying a handgun is the fun part. Cleaning it? That usually feels like a chore—right up until the moment you actually need it to work. Whether you’re a new owner or have a "safe queen" gathering dust, it’s time to get your hands a little dirty so your firearm stays clean.
This hands-on workshop is designed to take the mystery (and the intimidation) out of firearm maintenance. We’ll move past the "spray and pray" method and teach you how to properly care for your investment.
What You’ll Learn
We don’t just show you; we do it with you. By the end of this class, you’ll be able to:
Field Strip with Confidence: Learn how to safely disassemble your specific handgun without ending up with "extra parts" at the end.
The Anatomy of Grime: Identify the key areas where carbon, copper, and lead buildup occur.
The "Clean vs. Over-Clean" Balance: Understand which components need a scrub and which just need a wipe.
Proper Lubrication: Learn where to oil (and where not to) to ensure smooth cycling and prevent premature wear.
The Safety Function Check: Perform a post-assembly inspection to ensure your firearm is 100% operational.
What to Bring
To get the most out of this session, please come prepared with the following:
Your Handgun: Unloaded and cased.
Owner’s Manual: If you still have it (if not, we can help you find a digital version).
Eye Protection: Safety first, even at the workbench.
⚠️ STRICT SAFETY RULE: Under no circumstances is live ammunition allowed in the classroom. Please leave all magazines and ammo in your vehicle or at the front desk.
Why Take This Class?
A well-maintained firearm is a reliable firearm. Beyond just "looking good," regular cleaning helps you spot potential mechanical issues before they become dangerous failures. Plus, there is a certain zen-like satisfaction in knowing your gear is in peak condition.
Build the skill. Gain the confidence. Be prepared to protect what matters
